Recording payments and receipts
Record money paid out and money received through cash or bank, and correct a voucher the right way.
Record a payment
- Open Payment Entry and click New.
- Choose who you paid: a supplier, an expense head, an employee or another account.
- Choose cash or the bank account, enter the amount and date, and the cheque or reference number.
- Add a narration (or pick a ready-made one) and save.
Record a receipt
Open Receipt Entry and do the same for money received from a customer or another account.
Correcting a voucher
After saving you can change the reference, cheque and narration only. The amount, date and accounts can't change: cancel the voucher and enter a new one. This keeps an honest audit trail.
