Setting up masters: parties, products and GST
The lists to fill in before your first bill: parties, categories with HSN and GST, products, sizes and colours.

Set up masters once and every bill afterwards takes seconds. Work through them in this order.
1. Units & GST
Open Units & GST and check the units (pcs, kg, mtr…) and GST rates you use. Edit a row and press Save.
2. Categories
A category groups items that share a unit, HSN and GST rule.
- Open Category and click New Category.
- Enter the name, unit, HSN code and GST rate.
- Save. Every product in the category uses these unless the product overrides them.
Note: Changing a category applies to new bills. Saved bills keep the GST they were made with.
3. Brands, sizes and colours (optional)
If you trade garments or similar goods, add Brands, Sizes (S, M, XL, 28, Free Size) and Colours. Pick the sizes and colours on each product; sale bills then ask which one was sold.
4. Products
- Open Product and click New Product.
- Choose the category, enter the name and the purchase and sale rates.
- Set unit, HSN or GST only if they differ from the category.
- Enter the opening stock if you are starting mid-year.
5. Parties
Add your customers, suppliers, brokers and transporters with their GSTIN, state and address. The state decides whether a bill charges CGST + SGST or IGST.
6. Locations and narrations
State / District / City / Area lists feed the party address fields. Narration holds ready-made narrations for payments, receipts and journals.
